Well, we already see in online games what this kind of upbringing has caused. People stop trying and just throw the game if they are in slight disadvantage when 10% of the match is done. Loss isn't a loss if you aren't trying because your team sucks xD. If the team didn't suck balls, then you blame the almighty algorithm that hates you for some random reason and gives you only matches that are impossible to win. And then all the salty whining about the other dude that (possibly) made a slight error at one point, while the whiner did nothing but feed the whole match. I'm not saying that back in the good old days this didn't happen, ofc it did, but this kind of behavior has skyrocketed in the past decade or so.

How to raise a generation of laziness. If everyone wins by default what's the point in trying? No. In nature, economy, wild jungle, EVERYWHERE, there are winners and losses. Deal with it and strive to always win. It might not always work out, but you putting effort is the real lesson here.

This is how you promote mediocrity among young people. Here is a real life example, my son who's 8 yrs old entered in a spelling bee at his school. He came in 2nd place. So 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were different colored medals, however students who didn't win, all the way to the last place also received medals for "job well done". On our way home, my son said to me, "Next time I won't try so hard to win. I will still get a medal anyway."

What bs. I make them compete and give 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. The 1st gets way more than 2nd and 3rd and I tell them the blunt truth "to the victor goes the spoils". It's the nature of humanity throughout history and will never change (nor should it).

I entered in 43 competitions.. Kept a track of all of them till April 2017. Never won a single of one. There was always someone with a better talent. After a certain point in life, you just accept the status quo and move on with life It soon became a pleasant self depreciating joke that I found some pride in. .
